This book also contains special sections on training and animal rescue, showing the role that crystals can play in this context. Someone familiar with the work of Atget may very well know many of the photos in this volume, and have larger reproductions in other books, and therefore may enjoy this book as an historical record of a long out-of-print edition (and I appreciate that aspect myself), but I wouldn't recommend this book for someone new to Atget , or one looking for larger prints to study. I had read Portal several years ago and really liked it, but did not have a chance to read the other four books at that time with a full time job, family, and grad school. The book is simple but does not underestimate children, it uses complex vocabulary as "whimsical" but also simple as "itsy bitty" keeping it entertaining. The planning section is a bit thin, and only covers the basics. The families of the sailors who died under terrible and possibly unnecessary circumstances demanded justice, and so it appears, Captain McVay was the ideal, ready to fry and on hand scapegoat. When it was published in 1961, the book business wasn’t quite so slavish about genres, demanding that books conform to their genre template.
